Anyone can do a 5K plan from a couch—yes, including you

Moving over your body can be a privilege and a joy. But unfortunately, I’ve noticed (especially recently when spending more time with elderly relatives), that many people view physical activity as punishment. For anyone who feels this way, I want to help reverse that attitude. And a great way to start flipping the script is with a movement program that meets everyone where they are and shows them how much they can do.

That’s why I’m so excited to introduce this 5K (3.1 mile) training plan. I designed it for everyone, all faces and all speeds. All you need is a pair of running shoes and maybe some headphones.

You’ll find that throughout the six weeks there’s lots of walking and different types of exercise – not just running. And I promise you this mix of yoga, strength training, walking, power walking, jogging, running and stretching will get you to the finish line.

Running can be tough, but it’s my hope that jogging and running on the plan will start to become something fun—heck, even enjoyable. A big part of running for me is music. I’ll be posting playlists of my favorite songs to run to on my Instagram, but I encourage you to DJ your own running sets with songs that make you happy and that just make you want to move. Try running for the duration of your favorite song, see how it makes you feel!

If you don’t feel it for a few days, know that it’s totally okay. Listen to your body before you listen to me. I’ll be right there with you, and before you finish this, you can DM me on Instagram if you want to talk about it.

I can’t wait to cross the finish line with you. Now let’s get after it!
